O vector é uma publicação de periodicidade irregular (aprox. 6 a 8 números por ano) dedicada à teoria e à prática da arte, em particular no domínio das relações entre arte e tecnologia.| vector is published on a irregular basis (aprox. 6 to 8 issues a year)and it's dedicated to the theory and practice of art, specially to art and media technology.

O vector passou a ter esta designação em 1999, embora tenha sido criado em 1997.| This project was founded in 1997 and it's known as vector since 1999.

No final de 2002 o projecto sofreu uma nova remodelação, tendo-se então iniciado a chamada série b. Em Março de 2005 foi criada a série x.| In the end of 2002 the project was again reestructured,with the start of series b. In March 2005 it was created the series x .

A série b reúne projectos e texto, em cada número, sem um enquadramento temático preciso. Cada número da série x é pensado a partir de um tema unificador. | Series b gathers, in each issue, texts and projects without a thematic frame.Each series x issue is designed based on a precise thematic background.
